The Ghost masterfully narrates stories of adversity and strength in her visual work. She has refused to be defined by aesthetic dogmas and is creating art on her own terms. Through her work, The Ghost has created characters (often defined as warriors) that symbolize strength and resilience in response to social issues affecting the present world. Arts for Healing Project plans summer events in wake of mass shooting

SUNY Trustee and Urban League Board Member Eunice Lewin said the Urban League covered expenses and helped recruit students while Burchfield Penney provided art supplies. Participating artists included Patti Thomas aka "The Ghost," and muralists Julia Bottoms and Ari Moore as well as art teachers from the Buffalo Public Schools.
